Complete guide to BE Mechatronics Engineering at NUST CEME — the only NUST campus offering this program covering robotics, embedded systems, and industrial automation.

BE Mechatronics Engineering is offered only at CEME Rawalpindi among all NUST colleges. The 4-year program combines mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering for robotics, industrial automation, PLC programming, embedded systems, and IoT. CEME has dedicated robotics and automation labs. NET merit: approximately 73%. Graduates work in manufacturing automation, robotics, automotive industry, and PLC-based control systems. Starting salary: PKR 60,000-110,000/month.
Mechatronics Engineering is the integration of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science — essentially making machines smart. The program at NUST CEME covers mechanics, electronics, control systems, embedded systems, PLC and SCADA programming, robotics (kinematics, dynamics, control), computer vision and image processing, and industrial automation and IoT.
CEME's unique position as NUST's largest military engineering college makes it the natural home for mechatronics — a field that bridges mechanical engineering (CEME's strength), electrical engineering, and computer engineering. CEME has dedicated robotics labs, PLC labs, and embedded systems labs that support the program.
The first two years cover mechanical and electrical fundamentals plus programming. Years three and four focus on control systems, embedded systems design, robotics, and automation. Students complete a final-year project that integrates all three disciplines.
Mechatronics graduates work in manufacturing automation (PLC programming, SCADA), robotics companies, the automotive industry (robotic assembly lines), FMCG production lines, and the defence sector. Pakistan's growing industrial sector needs automation engineers. Many graduates also pursue MS in robotics or automation abroad.
CEME offers extensive sports facilities including a swimming pool, tennis courts, squash courts, 2 gyms, basketball, and cricket. The library has 70,000 volumes. Hostel and dining facilities are available on campus.
